I have been advised to eat my oats and then fruit to balance my sugar levels which means an all fruit breakfast wont be good??? - any suggestions. I do get low blood sugar?
Answer
If you add a handful of nuts to the (acid and or sub acid) fruit meal you will not have a problem and it will be way motre beneficial. Nuts contain complete protein - up to 30% - and essential fats, all of which help stabilize blood sugar. Oats contains gluten, not ideal for blood sugar problems.

Good morning Four weeks ago I fell and broke my right wrist. I was admitted to hospital where they performed an operation and put a plate in my hand which wiil be removed in 18 months time. My question is what is the best way to prevent any further bone loss as I do have osteoporosis as is and I am concerned about having even weaker bones as I get older. I am already 69 years old and previously (at different times broke both my ankles) each time I landed with my full weight on the bones that broke but I have no idea whether the breaks were related to my weak bones or if they would have been broken in any event or if it was as a result of the way I fell. I have been a vegetarian for 17 years and do not take any calcium supplements. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards Cynthia Valentin
Answer
Dear Cynthia Being vegetarian just lowers your risk, but unless you follow an 80% alkaline forming diet that is preferably gluten free, you risk osteoporosis. The 5 steps in my book "Perfect Health" and the www.100daystohealth.com program clearly explains and guides you to this %. then you need to also avoid gluten (wheat, rye and maybe even oats) and eat a large serving of dark green leafy vegetables daily. BarleyLife has the right calcium to phosphorus ratio for strong bones and I recommend that you take 2 heaped tsp daily in a glass of water or 6-8 capsules a day. Over and above that 20 minuets of natural light (not peak) on your skin and a supplement of flax oil. I can recommend Aim's Aimega. Both products are available from www.naturalway.co.za

My 8 month old baby still has terrible winds, she is breastfed exclusively, only eats fruit and I give her things like sugarsnaps and your flaxseed biscuits to chew on... She has always had bad winds, colic and reflux since birth. Its not getting better... I give her probiotics for a week every month and she is on iberogast and have now started with fresh fennel in water... I do not take in much dairy, so I doubt it could be lactose intollorent, perhaps gluten through breastmilk??? I need help! My 2 year old has never had a problem and I followed your healthy kids book with him too! She doesn't sleep due to her winds and I am about done!
Answer
You need 1 tsp of milk or a bite of cheese and it can affect your baby, she appears dairy and gluten intolerant, so I would remove all for at least 3 weeks and see the difference. Even a tiny amount will effect her and it usually takes 7 days to clear. So just a little once a week is enough to keep this going. I would stop everything and just give her Forever's Probiotic with 20ml of aloe vera gel a day. The aloe feeds the friendly flora and stops any inflammation. kind regards

Hi Mary Ann, I have left South Africa and am now living in Israel, I have just found a job where I have to be on my feet for almost 10 hours a day with no sitting, its a boutique, my arches under my feet are burning from strain all the time, I have just purchased from the health shop near me, Barley Grass, Flax seed oil and a fantastic Calcium mixture from a range called super herb. I need to have energy all the time and am exhausted as I have to get up at 5 everymorning and return from my job at 10 in the evening, what tips can you give me. I followed you alot when I was in SA, and met you at Bev Wium house in Midrand, I lost a lot of weight when I was with Bev, but i need the strength now to cope, I also take flax seed oil everyday. love Janine
Answer
Keep to a gluten free and dairy free diet (I know hard in Israel!) but they promote inflammation so you need to get them out. Increase the BLife and flax and take Bee Pollen, Royal Gelly and Multimaca from Forever. You can order i Israel from www.foreverliving.com just change the region in the left hand top corner and use our member number 270000932713 to order directly at the wholesale number. The contact details for Israel will come up when you change the region. These 3 products have helped me tremendously with endurance and strength and have helped my feet tremendously which tend to also get sore when standing for long periods.
